Gallery 113 entry for July 2015 is Icy. This was an interesting challenge to get the look of cracked ice. It was hard to know when to stop working on this piece. I thought if I continued to add dark colors I would lose the cold feeling of the piece. A touch of warmth was added to contrast with the icy blue to add intrigue, drawing the viewer past the cold structures.
The sunsets in Hawaii are spectacular. I was intrigued with the fiery colors contrasted with the dark rain clouds.
Nasturtiums, beautiful and colorful against the green foliage. They captivate you in their fiery glow. These are colors you see in the flames of your fire. From a deep crimson red to the cool blue. So many beautiful colors to choose from, what do I plant? This small 10 x 8 painting in an 14 X 11 mat can be found at Gallery 113.
