An ordinary red bell pepper becomes (Extra)ordinary when given center stage. The home-grown pepper is not perfect in color or shape, but that gives it a unique and more dramatic presentation. Very little space at the top forces the viewer to overlook the bright red color and refocus on the dark diagonal shadow.
Broken, but not forgotten. The piece is kept because of the original owner. It was a favorite. Kept from teenage years, it is hard to toss out. All it needs is a plant to cover the cracks and a quiet corner in the garden to remind one of the first person to claim the object.
